JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: FLEET MECHANIC
DEPARTMENT: FLEET MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: FLEET MAINTENANCE MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME or PART-TIME/SEASONAL
HOURLY/GROUP 4
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
To perform complete maintenance and repairs on resort equipment including heavy equipment, road vehicles, snowcats, snowmobiles, four-wheelers, small engines, and implements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist Fleet Maintenance Manager with the service and respair of equipment and vehicles
• Perform mechanical operations on resort equipment
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair
• Fuel and service vehicles are required
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain work activity and materials log for each job on a daily basis
• Adhere to maintenance procedures and standards
• Follow company safety procedures and employee policies
• Assure safety of maintenance operations
• Ensure the shop and supply room are kept clean and orderly
• Assist in snow removal and lift repair when needed
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills
• Must possess strong knowledge of heavy equipment
• Strong background in maintenance and/or repairs of small engines, brush cutters, chain saws, snowmobiles, four-wheelers, snow blowers, etc.
• Easily follows written and verbal instructions
• Adjust quickly to changes in assignments
• Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, state and county safety codes and regulations
• Must provide own tools
Education/Certification
• ASE certified mechanic
• Trained in the operation of snow machines and 4-wheelers
• Formal training on heavy/light rolling stock
• Formal training on small engines desirable
• Must have a valid, unrestricted, driver's license
Experience
• Knowledge of diesel and hydraulic
• Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience maintaining resort equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Indoor/outdoor including extreme temperatures during winter months
• Travel to Grand Junction with occasional out of town appointments
• Must be able to function with minimum supervision
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods, walk, bend, ascend and descend stairs and uneven terrain, lift up to 100 pounds, tolerate freezing temperatures.
ATTENDANCE:
32 - 40 hours per week. This position requires the ability to maintain flexibility in a work schedule, which will include weekends and holidays.
