EVENT STAFF

JOB SUMMARY:

Events is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains.  Enjoy the on-mountain working environment then the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain Season Pass. The position of Event Staff ensures that visitors to Monarch have a pleasant and personable experience; responsibilities include greeting and assisting guest while on the mountain, conducting guest surveys, assisting with Town Challenge races and special events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Event Staff responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Be an effective employee within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures, and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.” 
• Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team. 
• Set up Town Challenge Race Course, operate timing equipment, assist with registration, and manage results. 
• Assist with on-mountain special events, venue set up, take down, registration, results, and awards. 
• Greet and assist guests with knowledgeable directions and answers to questions. 
• Conduct guest surveys.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Age: 16
• Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
• A High School diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
• A valid Driver’s License, and a good, company insurable driving record is required.
• Ski/Ride at an advanced level. 
• Requires skiing or riding for long periods of time, on challenging or difficult terrain, and avoiding and recovering from a fall.
• Requires standing, walking on uneven, slippery surfaces, bending, twisting, reaching and climbing
• Must be able to stop, turn, change directions suddenly, adapt to uneven, varying intermediate terrain, and move in both directions on skis or snowboard carrying up to 15 lbs.
• Requires driving or riding a snowmobile.
• Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
