The Ski & Ride School Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. Instructors are responsible for coaching guests in skiing and/or snowboarding, continues to develop his or her own skills as an instructor, and maintains clientele through proactive service and sales efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The instructors responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coach guests in the tactics of skiing or snowboarding, providing them with a positive and quality experience that exceeds their expectations and within the realm of the PSIA/AASI teaching methodologies.
- Work as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.
- Assist with lesson line-ups as requested.
- Develop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.
- Fulfill department schedule and commitment levels to meet operational needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Age: 16
- Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
- Background check required.
- Ski/ride at an intermediate level
- Ability to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.
- Member of PSIA/AASI and certifications preferred.
- Prior instructor experience preferred.
- Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
JOB TYPE: Winter Seasonal, Full Time or Part Time
- 20-day commitment level for part time and 30-day commitment level for full time. Both levels will require peak time commitment throughout the season. Additional days may be required for orientation or training. (The minimum commitment levels are subject to change)
- May have fluctuation in working hours throughout the season based on overall business volumes.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Compensation: Begins at $18 per hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience/length of service.
