JOB SUMMARY:
- Provide day-to-day care and support for campers, creating a safe, supportive environment.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and be mindful and present throughout camp facilities, especially assigned cabins or zones.
- Act as a positive role model, building connections and fostering a fun, safe atmosphere for campers during instruction, recreation, and free time.
- Work closely with the health team, including camp nurses and athletic trainers, to address camper needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reside in staff housing and be present across camp facilities, overseeing camper safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with camp staff to provide behavior management, de-escalation, and support during meals, activities, and cabin time.
- Supervise campers in various settings, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Document camper interactions and communicate with supervisors, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Calm and confident in managing children in group settings.
- Able to work independently or in a team, with moderate supervision.
- Collaborative, open-minded, and capable of nurturing relationships with diverse groups.
- Motivated and accountable, with a strong attention to camper safety and well-being.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1 years of experience working with kids or teens; experience in behavioral health or social work preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management and camper development, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
BASIC SCHEDULE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Pre-hire criminal clearances required (PATCH, child abuse, FBI fingerprint).
- Physical ability to bend, twist, lift 50 lbs, and work in all-season outdoor environments.
- Preferred 4-week summer camp commitment during summer camp season
