JOB SUMMARY:
The Dirt Jump Attendant at Woodward Camp is an integral part of the camper's experience. They will be responsible for keeping Woodward's renowned dirt facilities (Small Dirt, Big Dirt and BMX Racetrack) operating at an elevated level. The Dirt Jump Attendant is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure all the courses/features are in safe, ridable, and presentable condition. In addition, the Dirt Jump Attendant should always be focused on the safety of the campers and staff. The Dirt Jump Attendant should be eager to learn new skills, able to work in an outside environment, and work in a team setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of dirt facilities, including repairs for course maintenance, drainage, water usage, tarping, and groundskeeping.
- Operate vehicles and utilize hand/power tools while following safety protocols and using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of projects and maintenance schedules, providing feedback reports to improve courses and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision.
- Shows initiative, responsibility, and accountability with strong attention to detail and safety.
- Successfully working independently and in a team, developing strong relationships with diverse groups of people.
- Punctual and prepared to greet and serve guests in a cordial, professional manner with a positive attitude.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Broad experience with building/maintaining dirt jumps, trails, and performing maintenance repairs/troubleshooting, including lawn care and small engine maintenance.
- Certified in applicable equipment, with preferred 2 years of experience in dirt jump building/maintenance and health/safety certifications
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Pre-hire criminal history clearances required: Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearances (Department of Public Welfare), and FBI fingerprint screening.
- Reliable transportation required, with physical ability to bend, twist, push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working indoors/outdoors year-round, adhering to all workplace safety practices.
- Pre-Summer sessions and a minimum 3-week summer camp commitment.
