JOB SUMMARY:
Dirt Maintenance staff are responsible for the building, maintaining, and general safety of the dirt jumps located on our campus. They should be proficient in the use of basic tools such as shovels, rakes, hoses, wheelbarrows, etc.
Before and during summer camp, Dirt Maintenance staff will work as a team to restore, maintain, & water the dirt jumps to a proper and safe condition for public use. This includes creating safe transitions, eliminating risks/hazards, and keeping all ridable areas clean. Additionally, they will facilitate the proper use of the zone, ensuring all campers know the runs and safety policies before use.

- Pay: $16.50 an hour
- This position is classified under California's Camp Counselor exemption (LAB 118.4 and Wage Order 5). Employees are paid a weekly salary of 85% of their hourly rate for hours worked between 40- 54 hours per week or will be paid at 85% of their hourly rate for each hour worked if the employee works less than 40 hours per week. Any hours worked over 54 will be paid at overtime rates, in accordance with California labor law.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Preferred experience:
- Preferred 1 years of experience working with kids and/or teens.
- Experience working on dirt jumps is preferred
- Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.
- Some college preferred
- Health and Safety Certifications
- Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Is creative. Can conceptualize ideas. Can think "outside the box". Can implement ideas.
- Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team.
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Background check including FBI and DOJ fingerprint screening required.
- CPR Certification
- Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
- Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines
