JOB SUMMARY:
The Food Service Attendants are responsible for providing exceptional food service to our campers, guests, and staff. This position requires the employee to prepare ingredients, wash dishes, attend to the dining area during meal times, and/or serve food to campers and staff.
- Kitchen - Main food service area for campers breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week
- Burger Grill - Secondary food service area service burgers and hot dogs for lunch and dinner throughout the week
- The Canteen - Quick service space at the central hub of campus (pizza, ice cream, etc.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Maintain health code standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and storage
- Keeps the food service area organized and clean, both the front and back of house
- Assistance with basic prep and in maintaining clean and organized food preparation, service and storage areas
- Manage check out process and oversee cash register when necessary
- Restock all food lines, paper products and grab and go areas
- Complete opening and closing tasks for front and back of house
- Cleaning the serving areas, kitchen, and cleaning dishes and taking out the garbage
- Oversee the designated dining area by ensuring tables, floors, and serving areas are well maintained
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines and strong attention to detail
- Successful working in an independent and team environment
- Be punctual and prepared to greet and serve guests in a cordial, professional manner with a smile and positive attitude
- Dress neatly, modestly, in a professional manner, appropriate for the daily duties and in compliance for health and safety standards
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Must be 14 years of age or older - needs work permit
- Must be 18 years of age or older for on-site housing
- Ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
- As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
- Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Preferred availability: Summer Camp Season (June 15th - August 16th)
