Job Summary:
The Central Reservations Team is seeking an exceptional and dynamic Group Sales Representative to book group lodging and conference business as well as day group business.. This individual will be responsible for representing the POWDR Parks group, developing relationships with industry professionals, securing and executing contracts for group sales related business. This individual will be responsible for our day group business while also managing the leisure tour and travel market business for Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park and Zion Lodge in Zion National Park.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with key decision-making contacts at tour operators.
- Continually understand and communicate accurately POWDR Parks products, services and specifications based on customers’ needs.
- Complete the required amount of direct sales contact as assigned by the department head for the leisure tour and travel market. i.e., phone calls, personal visits and hospitality function representation, this will be outlined upon hire.
- Respond to incoming sales leads in an expedited fashion to gain leverage over competition.
- Oversee all day group inquiries by providing all relevant information and handling customer service issues as they arise.
- Follow all departmental procedures and timelines for identified tools and processes (Outlook, Group Sales Calendar, Event software, PMS, invoicing/AR).
- Maintain proper, timely and accurate written documentation of all direct sales contact and client interactions within appropriate systems.
- Complete accurate and timely expense reports documenting transactions and providing necessary receipts as required by department head.
- Demonstrate the ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of POWDR Parks.
- Demonstrate the ability to network effectively and generate business from said network.
- Detailed tracking of leads, contracting, and group visits for the on-site teams.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at POWDR.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree in related field preferred. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
- 2-4 years of hospitality sales related work experience with demonstrated competence.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Driver License w/ clean motor vehicle record.
- Proficient computer skills, strong with Microsoft office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and proven success with internet / search engines / lead database software for prospecting and developing new business.
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably SNT and Triple Seat, desirable.
- Strong communication skills are important, both written and verbal.
- Strong sense of the meetings & hospitality industry and a passion for working with people.
- Good problem-solving skills, knowledge in contract negotiation and experience in cold calling, networking and building relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, calendar management, budget and expenses management required.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with being self-motivated and driven are necessary to be successful in this role.
Travel Requirements:
- 10% to 20% as required
Work Schedule:
- Normal weekday business hours with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays based on customer demand and travel needs.
