Volunteer Mountain Host position for 2025-2026 ski season
Start Date: October 25th, 2025, through May 25th, 2026
This guest service volunteer role is designed to promote Snowbird, its facilities, and programs in an enthusiastic manner and to provide skier/mountain guest related services and assistance, both on the mountain and in the village to enhance the guest’s experience. This is a volunteer position.
Position Functions
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive each morning at Snowbird in order to provide a welcome to Snowbird, mountain and resort information, directions, and exceptional guest service.
- Exhibit a presence in high traffic areas on the mountain to offer information, navigation, and to help encourage mountain policies.
- Lead complimentary, daily, Mountain Orientation Tours to guests along predetermined route on the mountain.
- Thank and provide information to departing guests to leave a lasting impression as guests exit Snowbird.
- Assist any additional teams at Snowbird as necessary to provide exemplary guest experience.
Interactions
- Direct and continuous contact with guests.
- Direct and continuous contact with Snowbird employees, management, and other departments.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and Snowbird employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years of position-specific experience with demonstrated competence.
Specific Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to ski or snowboard most terrain at Snowbird at an intermediate level or above in all weather and visibility conditions.
Skills & Knowledge
Technical:
Must be a competent skier/rider, able to handle alone or with a group all levels or terrain and snow conditions at Snowbird. Must be flexible, self-motivated, problem solver, and be able to work well in unsupervised situations.
Administrative:
Requires the ability to communicate in writing with some precision in grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Daily Conditions
Schedule:
Specific Shift: Require a minimum of 20 days a season / 8.5 hour days (8:30-5), can include weekends and holidays.
Mental:
- May experience unusual stress from continual interaction with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
Physical:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
- Daily duties are outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.
- Daily duties subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
