Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $22.00 to $24.40 , actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
- Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
Job Summary:
The Woodward Copper Office Lead is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the coordination of the summer camp logistics that are arranged in the camp office including but not limited to housing, travel, and activity needs associated with Woodward Copper summer camp.
They will be responsible for overseeing all the housing & travel needs of campers as well as communicating the program and camp logistics with outside persons such as parents & other guests. They will be responsible for the accurate scheduling and execution of the program. They will also be responsible for working with medical personnel to maintain individual medical records and other necessary camp medical paperwork as required by law.
They will be responsible for coordinating with medical personnel regarding non-emergency medical transport for campers and staff. They will have the responsibility of maintaining camp medical records as required by law. This individual will work closely with medical personnel to ensure records are appropriately updated. He/she will communicate with appropriate medical facilities, along with necessary staff.
They will be responsible to assisting the Office Supervisor and Camp Manager with Woodward Copper’s certifications such as the American Camps Association Accreditation and the State of Colorado Child Care License. In the event the Office Supervisor and Camp Manager are absent, the Office Lead will be responsible for communicating with outside personnel such as the State Licensing Specialist to maintain a seamless operation.
The Woodward Copper Lead will oversee the Housing Specialists who assign appropriate living arrangements to Woodward Copper campers, staff and visitors coordinating all needs, e.g., age, gender, special request, separate floors for staff and campers, etc. They will work with the EDGE Housing staff when determining housing needs for all sessions. They will assign each counselor to an appropriate group of campers along with assigning the counselors to their own rooms based upon the ratios outlined in Woodward Copper’s certifications. They will coordinate staff on camper arrival and departure days to ensure rooms are accurately booked, utilized, and cleaned. This individual will work with the EDGE and Woodward Copper staff to maintain camper safety in living quarters and will take all steps necessary to protect campers on their respective floors. They will also be responsible for the coordination of the cleaning team responsible for cleaning camper rooms between sessions.
They will communicate with the Day Coaches and the Overnight Counselors regarding camper issues to ensure needs are met; e.g., homesickness, peer issues, etc. They will communicate with campers’ families when a situation requires parental knowledge of an issue; e.g., unresolved homesickness, serious camp offense.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees camp office logistics, staff, and functions
- Coordinating camper, staff and visitor travel needs to/from Copper Mountain
- Coordinating with the Counselor Supervisor and Operations Manager for vehicle and staffing needs
- Coordinating with medical personnel for medical travel needs
- Assists balance camper financial accounts
- Assists with registrations at activation events and in office prior to camp
- Assists with training the camp office staff
- Ensuring unique needs of sick, homesick, and/or injured campers are met
- Maintain medical files for participating campers
- Maintain and update SOP’s for camp office operations
- Update camper accounts with necessary communication in relation to their experience at Woodward Copper
- Coordinate housing needs for up to 200 campers and up to 100 staff
- Assist in implementation of all aspects of the camp activities to ensure campers have the best experience possible
- Be knowledgeable in all departmental aspects of Woodward Copper policies & procedures and be able to perform the frontline duties wherever/whenever required
- Assist other areas of operation outside of the camp office including but not limited to camper activities, tent events, check-in, check-out, etc.
- Flexible to working various shifts and hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime
- Participate in recreation activities enthusiastically
- Effectively communicates with Woodward Copper staff including but not limited to Managers, Supervisors, Foreman, Agents, Coaches, Counselors, F&B & fellow staff daily
- Organizes & maintains camper lists
- Adheres to Woodward Copper’s Camp Accreditation with the American Camps Association
- Adheres to Woodward Copper’s State of Colorado Child Care License
- Assists the Office Supervisor with certification needs
- Assists with general maintenance and cleaning of all camp facilities including, but not limited to, the Barn, the EDGE, the Café, etc.
- Oversees the cleaning of camper rooms between sessions and works with hired cleaning team to ensure the rooms are within standard.
- Reports to the Office Supervisor

Basic Requirements:
- Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must have a valid US Driver’s license.
- This position may require the use of a motor vehicle and the employee is subject to comply with the Driver’s Standards of Copper Mountain.
- Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred Experience and Special Skills:
- Experience with group transportation a plus
- Medical experience a plus
- Must be extremely proficient with MS office specifically MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with RTP One a plus
- Should have experience with Camper aged groups, as well as older groups and adults
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ guest service experience required
- Must have 3 years’ experience working with kids and/or teens
- Previous resort experience in a high volume customer oriented environment preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills required
- Must have High School degree or equivalent required
- College degree preferred
