What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk/Insurance Coordinator position at Powell Pediatric Dentistry?
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Front Desk employee to join our team. The ideal candidate will help manage our front desk on a daily basis while ensuring all insurance plans get uploaded and maintained in our software. This role will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a smooth flow of patients and information.
This position is specific to front desk responsibility ONLY; no dental assistance will be needed as part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
- Enter insurance plans and maintain insurances for all patients
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments and help manage the office calendar
- Verify patient information and direct billing inquiries as needed
- Collect and process payments, including copays and balances
- Maintain patient records and update personal, insurance and treatment information
- Keep a running list of supplies needed for the front desk
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely patient flow
- Keep updated list of missed appointments, and cancellations
- Aid Hospital Coordinator with scheduling confirmations and other various duties
- Assist office manager with tasks/projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a dental or medical office
- Proficient in using dental office software, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills and multitasking abilities
- An understanding of dental office procedures and workflow
- Excellent phone and in-person communication skills
- Familiarity using Curve Hero software a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
