Job Title : Senior Cost Accountant
Location : Houston [Central]
Hours : Monday - Friday : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, additional hours as required.
Employment Type : Full-Time
Experience : 5 years in Cost Accounting within manufacturing
Salary : $80,000 , plus bonus opportunities (DOE)
We're looking for a skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in Central Houston! This role offers generous benefits, including a matching 401(k) plan. We are a growing company with a revolutionary manufacturing concept that the market is embracing. Due to growth, we are adding a Senior Cost Accountant to our successful Accounting team as we expand across Texas.
Senior Cost Accountant Responsibilities :
- Maintain and analyze accounting records and input financial data with accuracy.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual COGS statements.
- Develop and track cost standards, comparing them to actual performance and providing insights on variances.
- Collaborate with teams to interpret financial data, proposing actions to cut costs and improve profitability.
- Monitor commodity cost trends and assess short and long-term impacts on our cost structure.
- Lead physical inventory counts and reconcile results with system data.
- Manage the Capital Expenditure cycle, including bookkeeping, ROI analysis, approvals, and depreciation.
- Support the Corporate Controller in preparing production plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Create and update SOPs for cost accounting, CapEx, and inventory management.
- Ensure ERP production module accuracy for cost and inventory tracking.
- Handle revenue recognition, warranty reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Join operational management meetings to discuss cost and CapEx performance.
- Participate in process improvement projects within the Finance team.
- Summarize financial data and prepare profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Guide team members by answering questions and providing training as needed.
- Support audits and ensure timely completion of property and tax filings.
- Analyze intercompany accounts and support tax compliance needs.
