The VDC Mechanical Assistant Project Manager at Power Design is the brain behind the design of mechanical systems on our large-scale projects. As the VDC APM, you’ll work on HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and ductwork layouts.
position details/responsibilities…
- Coordinate the best design solutions for mechanical systems by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
- Provide design direction, support and guidance to all team members, including working directly with Revit CADD technicians to ensure quality and review constructability.
- Communicate effectively with customers, project team members and inspecting authorities.
- A team player who always acts with customers in mind and thrives in a constantly changing and evolving environment and has at least three (3) years of relevant mechanical design experience.
- Someone with working knowledge of constructability and strong design fundamentals for mechanical and plumbing systems and installation methods required.
- Experience with VRV, WSHP and DX Split systems and/or CADD/Revit experience, as well as a bachelor’s degree in engineering, is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of mechanical codes. (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE)
- An excellent communicator who is able to read and interpret blueprints, submittals and specifications and perform basic HVAC calculations.
- Knowledge of HVAC load calculations using Trane Trace or similar HVAC load and energy analysis programs, as well as experience in duct sizing, layout and design for air systems.
