What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Supervisor position at POWER DYNAMICS INNOVATIONS LLC?
This is a key position within Power Dynamics Innovations infrastructure as it supports every aspect of Power Dynamics Innovation’s fabrication department. Virtually every project PDI performs had major fabrication needs. This position requires good leadership skills, planning, critical thinking and organizational skills. This position also works closely with all of the divisions within the company.
What you will be doing:
- Supervise and manage a team of [number] fabrication technicians, welders, and machine operators.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and procurement teams to ensure accurate interpretation of blueprints and specifications.
- Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance skills and ensure a cohesive work environment.
- Manage and maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, coordinating with maintenance when necessary.
- Prepare reports on production metrics, safety incidents, and process improvements for management.
What you will need to succeed:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication, welding, or metalworking, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, SMAW) and fabrication equipment (plasma cutting, plate bending unit, iron workers, saw and/or milling)
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding certification (AWS or equivalent).
- OSHA 10/30 Hour Certification.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of Six Sigma processes or Lean certification.
