Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented electrical engineering student for a summer 2025 internship in our Denver, Colorado office. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of utility substation design. Responsibilities will include detailed design of low to extra-high-voltage utility substations to include one-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing / routing, substation layout, etc. The position may also include performing design calculations in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc., assisting senior engineers with QA / QC design checks, and assisting design engineers with design efforts for electric utility substation physical and protection / control design.
In addition to working under the guidance of experienced team members, the selected intern will also participate in sessions designed to develop your skills and provide networking opportunities. Those sessions include :
- Professional Development sessions focused on resume writing, interview tips, building a LinkedIn profile, and more.
- Early Talent Speaker Series where leaders speak to interns about their role, vision for the company, and career path, offer career advice, and a Q&A session.
- Fun Friday activities where interns company-wide join to network and have some fun while doing it.

Salary DOE : The pay range for this position is $22 - $26 per hour; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
