POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is currently seeking a full-time Entry-Level Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Boise office located in Meridian, Idaho. T he successful candidate will work with engineers and designers to develop high voltage substation construction packages. The candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge, learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to client’s requirements. Candidate should be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills.

Candidate should be able to work in design teams, be self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take initiative to learn new skills.
Responsibilities
- The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams
- Be responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes
- Collaborate with team members to resolve design challenges and seek guidance from experienced professionals
- Be reliable, detail-oriented, demonstrate initiative, and take ownership of assigned tasks
- Associates/technical dDegree in an accredited drafting program or equivalent technical degree
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Background in mathematics
- Strong command of the English language with good verbal and written communication skills
- Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry
- Attention to detail, good time management, and organizational skills will be critical for completing tasks
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
- Experience with other engineering software such as MicroStation, Inventor, SolidWorks, or ACADE
- Drafting experience preferably in an engineering work environment
- Knowledge of substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings is beneficial.
- Experience working with scaled drawings
- Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with File Management Systems a plus
