Environmental Construction Compliance Monitor - Temporary -Field Based
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a temporary project-specific, Environmental Construction Compliance Monitor for POWER’s Environmental Division – Western Biology Department. The specific project offers full-time hours and is located in northwestern Colorado. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the project adheres to all relevant permit authorizations, laws, agency regulations, and industry standards to guarantee safety, efficiency, and compliance during all phases of project construction.

Base Salary Range: $37-$45 per hour

Environmental Construction Compliance Monitor - Temporary -Field Based
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a temporary project-specific, Environmental Construction Compliance Monitor for POWER’s Environmental Division – Western Biology Department. The specific project offers full-time hours and is located in northwestern Colorado. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the project adheres to all relevant permit authorizations, laws, agency regulations, and industry standards to guarantee safety, efficiency, and compliance during all phases of project construction.
Roles And Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Construction Compliance Monitor will include, but are not limited to:
- Five (5) years of proven experience in compliance inspection and monitoring on transmission lines or similar infrastructure projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capable of taking direction and completing assigned inspection tasks as directed
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic biological field survey/substantial construction monitoring knowledge
- Experience with federal and state land management/resource agencies
- Able to work independently in remote locations and in a variety of conditions
Required Education/Experience
- B achelor's degree in wildlife biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Construction Management, or other related field-based experience.
- Proven experience in compliance inspection and monitoring on transmission lines or similar infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of taking directions and completing assigned inspection tasks as directed.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Basic biological field survey/substantial construction monitoring knowledge.
- Experience with federal and state land management/resource agencies.
- Able to work independently in remote locations and in a variety of conditions
- Able to lift ~50 pounds and drag up to ~150 pounds
- Advanced knowledge of 4WD and/or off-road vehicle operation
- Basic knowledge of field mechanics (flat tires, impaired vehicles, vehicle recovery, etc.)
- Able to navigate 4WD vehicles in steep and rugged terrain in variable weather conditions
- Proven teamwork and leadership qualities are relevant to the work
- Ability to work 60-72 hours per week, up to 7 days a week in a safe and reliable manner
- Erosion control certifications relevant to construction
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) and other industry-related certifications
