Mid-Level Power Distribution EngineerSummary Of Roles And Responsibilities
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Distribution Engineer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in Boise, ID. The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ability to apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop the most complete and competent design
- Perform quality reviews of project deliverables
- The ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and drafters
- Occasional travel should be expected
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option
- Four (4) years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)
- Experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development
- Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, GO Codes and electrical utility best practices
- Must have strong command of the english language and possess good written and oral communications skills
- Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Professional Engineer (PE) License, or ability to obtain one in the state of Idaho
- A BSEE, BSEET, or BSME degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option
- Prior electrical utility experience
- Exposure to electrical utility design systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, AUD, etc.
- Exposure to work management programs such as Maximo, SAP, etc.
