Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer for our Overhead Transmission design team. The candidate will work in the Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Austin, TX office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting and coordinating the following :

Manage engineers, drafters, and designers on small to medium sized engineering projects and interface directly with the clientResponsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule and budgetConduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to clearly outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with responsible personnel identifiedCoordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessaryMaintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-discipline projects, both internal and external to POWER / WSPForecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planningFacilitate and adhere to POWER / WSP's QA / QC procedure to ensure the correct personnel is performing the required QA / QC reviewParticipate in industry conferences, both internal and external, to improve professional growth while fostering knowledge transfer to colleaguesDevelop transmission line design knowledge pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure design, foundations, assembly drawings, steel pole performance loading, material procurement, construction specifications, and construction supportProject Manager SupportMaintain project status reports
Provide weekly or bi-weekly project updates and project forecastingLead and / or support PM by meeting with clients, both in-person and remotelyDevelop client relationships allowing POWER / WSP the opportunity to position ourselves to win future workRequired Education / Experience :
Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace EngineeringThe candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.Experience using the Microsoft Office software suiteAt least 2 years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packagesPLS-CADD proficiencyPassed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and be registered Engineer-In-Training (EIT)Preferred Education / Experience :
Passed Professional Engineering Exam (PE) is strongly preferred but not requiredExperience managing projects and leading multi-disciplined teamsDesign experience up to 345kVAt least 2-years of experience using POLE, TOWER and FAD Tools software packagesTransmission line routingCost estimating and schedulingAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
