Project Engineer
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with our Government Services Division. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be part of an engineering team engaged in engineering design projects in the Government market including mission-critical infrastructure design to include power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, MEP design, and related projects.
Strong team leadership, mentoring, excellent communication skills, presentation skills, motivation, positive attitude, and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently will be core skills for the successful candidate. Our Department is growing and the successful applicant will play an important role in the development of a sustainable electrical department with staff filling roles at all experience levels. The applicant will interface directly with internal and external clients and will demonstrate a proven ability to drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints.
Responsibilities include leading design teams including sub-consultants and working with federal clients on energy and infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer will be challenged with working on multiple large and small projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate must have a deeply technical engineering skill set and experience leading design teams and interface with federal clients. The position requires candidates who are licensed professional engineers in electrical or mechanical engineering.

DOE Salary: The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $180,000 annually; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.

Required Education/Experience
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University
- Professional Engineering License with the ability to be licensed in multiple states
- Seven (7) years of applicable experience leading technical design teams on federal government projects
- Specific projects should be with NAVFAC or USACE
- Demonstrated experience with the successful execution of design-build (DB) and design-bid-build (DBB) interdisciplinary design projects for US Government clients
- Working knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS)
- Seven (7) years of experience in the design and specification of electrical power distribution systems or mechanical systems, and building design
- Broad understanding of architectural and engineering system designs and multi-discipline coordination
- Ability to mentor design teams
- Successfully manage project scope, schedule, and budget
- Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel domestically and internationally, and must work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ten (10) years of applicable experience leading technical design teams and in the design and specification of electrical power distribution systems or mechanical systems, and building design
- Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
- Experience with mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Solid foundation in implementing CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation
