Senior Air Quality Engineer/Scientist
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, seeks a highly motivated Senior Air Quality Engineer/Scientist for the Air Quality and Related Environmental Group.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Performs technical work including preparing all aspects of air quality permit applications
- Calculates emissions and evaluates air emissions control technologies
- Leads projects and tasks related to complex air quality permitting and compliance services
- Performs Quality Assurance of work products for technical staff
- Advises clients and technical staff on complex regulatory programs including PSD, NNSR, Acid Rain Program, Federal Permitting
- Assists clients in determining federal and state air quality regulatory applicability and develops strategies and systems for compliance
- Prepares proposals for air quality permitting and environmental support projects
- Interfaces with State air quality agencies and EPA on behalf of clients
- Mentors POWER’s technical staff for their professional development
- Works collaboratively with POWER colleagues, external companies, and attorneys in support of clients’ air quality needs
- Advocates for POWER’s clients, keeping them informed of pertinent regulatory matters and other issues that impact their business
- Participates in public meetings and hearings on behalf of clients
- Participate in environmental compliance audits
- Develops business for POWER by networking through face-to-face visits with potential clients and participating in professional trade associations by attending conferences, tradeshows, and webinars
- Supports business development activities by helping to develop internal marketing materials and contributes technical articles to POWER publications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related science or engineering
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in Electric generation air permitting and regulatory expertise in Texas
- Experience with air quality permitting and compliance in Texas
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including report writing, oral presentations, and direct verbal communication
- Experience in interpreting and developing compliance strategies for State and Federal air quality regulations and proven problem-solving skills
- Availability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Valid State driver's license
- Professional Engineer’s license in Texas
- Air dispersion modeling familiarity
