Senior Protection Engineer
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Protection Engineer to work in the Power Delivery SCADA & Analytical Services (SAS) Department in our Augusta / Hallowell or Freeport, Maine offices. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work schedule. Candidates will be expected to travel on occasion, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Projects will require the candidate to conduct all work associated with protective relaying, including short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis. Projects will be performed for utility, industrial and commercial clients. The candidate will also be required to analyze a variety of systems, which include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission & distribution systems. Other roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Technical and budgeting support for proposal development
- Staffing assigned projects with appropriate engineers while providing oversight to meet agreed upon schedule and budget
- The successful completion of assigned projects
- Maintaining and improving existing client relationships
- Growing and developing new technical service areas
- Leading and mentoring team members assigned to projects

Base Salary Range : $90k - $160k
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
