Stormwater BMP Inspector
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Stormwater BMP (Best Management Practices) Inspector based out of our Rocky Mount, Virginia office. The primary responsibilities of this position include the site inspection of multiple linear construction projects for compliance with Project Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
This position requires extensive travel (80-100%), with projects typically located within a one to two-hour driving distance.
The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently with little supervision while conducting inspections of erosion sediment control and stormwater BMPs in locations with little infrastructure. Other tasks may include, but may not be limited to :
- Inspects construction projects to the requirements of erosion control, stormwater management, Chesapeake Bay, and related minimum codes and regulations.
- Examines construction methods and materials used to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations; ensures adherence to approved plans, materials, and specifications; prepares inspection reports.
- Performs technical work inspecting local construction projects to ensure quality control, environmental protection, and life-safety rules are enforced.
- Enforces fieldwork, reviews construction plans, and keeps accurate files.
- Communicates daily with contractors and engineers.
- Sets up and maintains a variety of records and files.
- Prepares inspection.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Assisting with the development of project SWPPPs
