Substation Civil Engineer
Job Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking an energetic, self-starting team member with a strong civil engineering design background to perform engineering design activities for electrical substations. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Freeport, Maine office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
Roles and Responsibilities
- All aspects of substation civil design including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design
- Development of civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals and project schedules
- Support of substation physical design with bus analysis calculations and coordinating with multiple disciplines on results
- Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements
- Understand and incorporate typical structural code requirements
- Coordination with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design
- Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements
- Occasional travel will be required
