Transmission Planning & Studies Engineer - Junior Level
Power Engineers, Inc. is seeking junior-level Transmission Planning/Studies Engineers. This position is posted in multiple POWER office locations with the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location (please note in the application questions where you prefer to be located).
Roles And Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility transmission/distribution systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems, including: feasibility studies, system impact studies, reactive compensation studies, protective relay settings, critical clearing time, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, motor starting, power factor correction, and other related studies.
This person must be able to self-manage, with a strong conceptualization ability and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills – including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.

Base Salary Range: $65k - $80k
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.

Required Education/Experience
- Requires a BSEE
- Two (2) years of experience in electrical engineering system studies
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills including proposal writing, report writing, and other technical writing
- Experience with PSSE, PSLF, or other equivalent software packages
- Experience with TARA steady-state preferred
- Willing to travel (10% or more at times)
- Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment
- EIT registration (or equivalent)
- MSEE
- EMT software experience is a plus
