The Quality Team Lead must demonstrate a working knowledge of all Inspection functions within the Royal Switchgear Manufacturing process and coordinate with the Quality Supervisor and Inspectors to ensure Quality functions are carried out in an efficient and timely manner. The Lead will direct Inspector coverage on the production lines, cover any gaps in coverage, assist in cross-training, assist in Gauge Calibration, assist with and oversee first article inspections, coordinate and execute suspect material sorts and inspect finished product prior to shipment to ensure customer satisfaction and track Inspector efficiency.LOCATION: Fully Onsite - 3995 Pine Ln SE, Bessemer, AL 35022 & 5551 Parkwest Dr Unit 115, Bessemer, AL 35022ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating with the Inspectors and Quality Supervisor to ensure no lapses in line coverage occur.
- Coordinating with Quality Supervisor and Inspectors to achieve and maintain full cross-training of Inspection staff.
- Coordinating with Plant Quality Engineer to execute and maintain gauge calibration.
- Overseeing completion of first article inspections and part dimensional inspections.
- Coordinating with Quality Supervisor and Supplier Quality Engineer to sort inspect on-hand material and quarantine any non-conforming pieces.
- Assisting in the rework of non-conforming materials when deemed necessary.
- Assisting Quality Supervisor in team cross-training efforts by facilitating inspector movement and process coverage.
- Utilizing analytical skills to determine root causes of quality issues and implement actions to resolve them.
- Ensure the highest level of process compliance and accuracy are maintained for all activities.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 2-4 years' experience operating within an inspection environment for fabrication and/or manufacturing processes or equivalent leadership experience.
- Proven efficacy in the Quality functions within the RSM process (Group Ops inspection, Hookstick inspection, Control Mech inspection, Machine Shop & Fab inspections, Sub-Assembly inspections, closing folders, performing dimensional inspections on parts, and executing FAI).
- Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Driver License with satisfactory driving record.
