The Welding Technician 1 will be responsible for welding, grinding and assembly of enclosures. The Welder is also responsible for ensuring that components are made to exact specification and in a timely manner.LOCATION: Onsite - 1509 Hamilton Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment start and the safe operation of multiple pieces of equipment.
- Performing inspection of fabricated parts and ensure the correct materials were used prior to assembly.
- Measuring and cutting materials to specification.
- Welding enclosure parts (sides, braces, doors, equipment plates, etc.) using Mig Welders.
- Checking finished work to ensure that it meets tolerances marked on fabrication/welding prints.
- Following company housekeeping standards. Daily putting tools and fixtures in assigned area.
- Performing all other assigned tasks.
- High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Proficiency in using tape measure and other measuring devices.
- Minimum of 1-year prior experience as a steel welder in a manufacturing environment is required; MIG, Stainless Steel welding, and other welding skills/certifications preferred.
- Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while following standardized work requirements, and adhering to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team to achieve production and departmental goals.
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and written instructions to fabricate to exact specifications is required.
- Must have physical stamina, ability to stand while performing job duties, and ability to lift 50 pounds as needed throughout workday.
- Knowledge of Production Procedures and Safety Requirements preferred.
- Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities is preferred.
