Position Summary
- The Software Quality Assurance Associate supports our product teams with thorough testing and documentation of new features within PHRG’s internal application, Nitro. They ensure quality through careful review of our application’s workflow, permissions, data, error tracking systems, and logs.
- This role is embedded within a team (or teams) focused on a specific product area in Nitro, working closely with product managers and developers to deliver value in weekly sprints. The Software Quality Assurance Associate partners with support teams to understand and quickly resolve production issues, maintaining a commitment to overall product quality.
- While this role focuses on manual testing, we are eager to introduce automated testing to our quality approach. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning automated testing techniques and excited to grow their skills in this area over time.
- Independently develops and executes manual test cases based on planned project schedules
- Review requirements and specifications and provides input during requirements and specification walkthroughs and maintains functional test suites
- Records and tracks defects uncovered during the execution of tests cases. Drives defect towards resolution; proposes and designs retest cases, scripts and data. Contributes to the defect management: defect status and root cause in daily standup meeting.
- Document feature functions and integrations
- Manually tests changes to Nitro, ensuring they meet business requirements and user needs.
- Verifies production changes, occasionally after hours, to confirm accuracy and stability, ensuring no new issues are introduced.
- Builds a thorough understanding of Nitro’s workflow, data, permissions, and logging processes.
- Promotes quality by reviewing and updating test instructions, ensuring all functions are thoroughly tested and approved prior to merging changes.
- Participates actively in all team meetings.
- Applies insights to reduce end-user reliance on the support team by enhancing the application’s usability and stability.

- Open to learning new testing approaches, including automated testing, and excited to expand their skill set in quality assurance.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and planning ability. Detailed oriented. Observational.
- Enthusiastic about learning automated testing techniques to expand QA skills over time.
- Good work ethic and general business acumen. Working knowledge of testing concepts, verification and validation techniques, defect management, quantitative methods, risk management and measurement programs.
- Working knowledge of defect tracking, quality principles and testing tools.
- Knowledge of developing and executing SQL queries (Preferred)
- Hands on experience with Test automation using any tool/framework (Preferred)
- Experience in other support center settings is preferred
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field a plus
