The Sheraton Mesa Hotel at Wrigleyville West is currently recruiting for a Front Desk Associate.
Summary: Responsible for Guest Service and Hotel Clerical functions.
7am to 3pm or 11am to 7pm (weekends required 7am to 3pm)
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide excellent Guest Service at all times.
- Monitor room rate and inventory status.
- Check-in and check-out of hotel guests.
- Respond to guest requests.
- Comply with all cash handling procedures.
- Monitor status of guest accounts.
- Ensure that objectives of sales, costs, profits, and performance are met.
- Communicate with Front Office Manager regarding all aspects of Front Office operations.
- Demonstrate a Guest First focus in all actions.
- Monitor current rate, rate changes and all promotions and groups.
- Maintain hotel inventory according to PHG policies and procedures.
- Operate in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Keep work area neat and organized.
- Review reservation forecasts, catering functions, convention pick-up, marketing plan, promotional packages and execute all front office aspects of those events.
- Register guests into the hotel in a prompt and courteous manner using upselling techniques to maximize room rates.
- Assist in the rooms forecasting process.
- Organize transportation to/from local attractions and airports, directing with the assistance of our shuttle drivers.
- Book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups that are requested by either Hotel or PHG Corporate Sales.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by GM to include cross training, CPR and first aid training.
- Attend all mandatory meetings (i.e., departmental, staff, etc.).
- Ensure enforcement and communicate hotel security policies and procedures (including emergency procedures).
- Process cancellations, revisions and information updates on changes.
- Participate in emergency response team activities including fire drills, alarm tests and emergency response practice sessions as directed by hotel management
- Knowledge Fosse and other Marriott software a plus.

Hours Required:
Scheduled days and times may vary. Ability to work evening, weekend and/or holiday work hours based on the business needs of the hotel. General schedule includes 4-5 eight hour shifts per week, with Saturdays and Sundays a core part of that responsibility.
