Overview
We have an opening in Safety for an Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer. This position will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating programs that result in EHS regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
• Assist the EHS Manager with the development and compliance of EHS programs• Accountable for compliance with all applicable regulatory and ERMCO EHS and related policies andprocedures.• Accountable for Emergency Response functions, roles, and responsibilities in accordance with siteemergency response plan.• Supports management/supervision to ensure all site associates understand and comply with allapplicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures.• Ensures that all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately.• Ensures that programs exist and are followed for all necessary employee monitoring and testingrequirements are performed appropriately.• Assist in developing and maintaining safety systems, policies, and procedures.• Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and healthconcerns and hazards.• Conducts accident investigation and provides recommendations to prevent re occurrence.• Trains employees and management in safe practices and EHS procedures.• Ensures that EHS standards are met by all on site contract services.• Assist in compliance with SPCC, SWPPP, waste-water compliance, ISO, etc.• Assist with risk management inspections and compliance opportunities.• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; and one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Ability to work in a team environment.• Excellent time management skills.• Self-motivated and self-directed.• Strong organizational skills required.• Microsoft word, excel, outlook, and power point skills.• Five years of EHS experience at the manufacturing level preferred
