Overview
This position will use their skillset to inspect, test, analyze, and/or transformers while considering the values and goals of Power Partners.
Responsibilities
Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions with regards to inspecting, testing, analyzing, and/or repairing distribution transformers. Ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, and shut-down of test equipment. Repeatedly lift/move material that is 50 lbs. with or without assistance from lifting devices or coworkers. Handle material and use hand/power tools and testing equipment. Read and interpret various forms of documentation to ensure conformity of all distribution transformers to standards. Follow all safety polices and procedures.
Qualifications
• Communicate, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions;• Use iPads, computers, and other electronic communication tools;• Work in a team environment with open communication and collaboration;• Use of organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary;• Add, subtract, multiply, and calculate averages in Standard units of measure;• Demonstrate proper lifting techniques;• Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials;• Use measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers;• Use hand/power tools such as torque wrenches, impact tools, and scanners;• Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment;• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 50 lbs.;• Frequent standing and walking is necessary;• Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling;• 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;• Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules;• Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to: safety toed shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, and hearing protection.
