Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Supervision
- Oversee and manage electrical crews in the installation of medium-voltage (MV) and high-voltage (HV) systems for utility-scale solar power projects.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with project specifications, NEC, NESC, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Lead the installation of solar inverters, transformers, switchgear, grounding systems, and power collection systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in solar arrays, combiner boxes, and substation interconnections.
- Review electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure proper execution of work.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce strict safety protocols, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and local electrical codes.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to minimize hazards.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members on electrical safety and proper equipment handling.
Project Coordination & Leadership
- Plan daily work schedules, assign tasks, and oversee progress to ensure project milestones are met.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate electrical work with overall construction activities.
- Lead and mentor electrical teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems, including continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and commissioning procedures.
- Ensure all electrical installations pass required testing, inspections, and commissioning requirements before energization.
- Maintain detailed documentation of electrical work, testing reports, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in utility-scale solar electrical installations.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Foreman, or Lead Electrician in large-scale power projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, OSHA standards, and electrical safety regulations.
- Experience working with medium-voltage (MV) and high-voltage (HV) electrical systems in solar farms or substations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or other relevant safety certifications required.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.
