We are seeking an experienced Global Logistics Manager to lead and optimize global logistics operations, focusing on cost-effective and timely transportation.
This role emphasizes ocean freight from Asia to the U.S., Europe, and South America, as well as distribution from the U.S. and Europe to customers globally.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of logistics management experience and expertise in international freight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end global logistics strategies and execution, including inbound transportation and logistics, customs/duties/tariffs, and outbound transportation from distribution.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade and shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
Ocean Freight Management:
- Strategically plan, optimize and manage ocean freight operations, focusing on key routes from Asia to the United States and Europe.
- Develop and maintain relationships with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to secure competitive rates and service agreements.
- Monitor and manage container bookings, shipping schedules, and on-time delivery performance.
Cost Optimization:
- Analyze and optimize logistics costs while maintaining service quality and meeting delivery timelines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and enhanced efficiency in the supply chain.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor global logistics associates, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
Performance Monitoring:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, including cost, transit time, and delivery accuracy.
- Implement supplier scorecard and review processes.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, distribution/warehouse, and sales, to align logistics strategies with business goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for logistics-related inquiries and problem resolution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, with a focus on international freight operations including international ocean freight, intra-European and North American transportation.
- Extensive knowledge of ocean freight logistics, including carrier negotiations, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (e.g., CSCP, CLTD) is a plus.
- Fluency in a second language, such as Mandarin or Dutch, is advantageous.
