What We Are Looking For:
As a part-time Transmission & Distribution Engineering Technician in our Marietta, Ohio, office, your primary responsibility will be providing consulting services to PSE clients for substation engineering projects, including substation design and operational support.
What You Will Be Doing:

- Assist with the electrical design of substation projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and clients.
- Collect field data required for projects.
- Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to produce the final product.
- Develop and procure material and construction specifications and contracts. Evaluate bids and proposals and provide contract award recommendations.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients and colleagues in the utility industry.
- Perform field soil resistivity measurements and data collection
- Review of wiring diagrams and other construction drawings/schematics.
- Assist with testing and commissioning of electrical facilities.
- Provide regular status reports on project progress.
- Provide day-to-day operations support to PSE clients.
- Perform project reviews, advise on projects and client inquiries, and provide mentorship across PSE.
- Coordinate activities between clients, utilities, permitting agencies, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- An associate’s degree in electrical engineering or other technical fields is preferred but not required.
- 10 years of job-related experience in electrical engineering and or the industry is required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of computer software tools, including MS Word and MS Excel (required).
- National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) knowledge is preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards and electric codes is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical utility systems.
- Knowledge of substation equipment and operations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $91,583 - $99,518
This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for ten minimum relevant years of experience to fifteen maximum relevant years of experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
