What We Are Looking For:
Transmission Planning & Interconnection Engineer to provide consulting services to PSE clients for a wide range of engineering projects, including electrical utility transmission planning and studies; generation interconnection studies, modeling, and conceptual design; and utility-scale renewable energy resource-focused design and analysis.
What You Will Be Doing:

- With the support of PSE colleagues, perform transmission studies, including planning studies, stability studies, generator interconnection studies, and material modification studies.
- Provide and/or assist with generator interconnection support, including preliminary project design.
- Perform transmission system modeling analysis utilizing PSSE engineering analysis software.
- Develop PSCAD model for generator projects.
- Assist on distribution studies as needed.
- Provide day-to-day operations support to PSE clients.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a consulting, utility, or ISO/RTO setting is strongly recommended.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in PSS/E, PSCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word is a prerequisite.
- Basic knowledge of applicable NERC, IEEE, NEC, and ANSI standards and electric codes is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of additional power engineering software programs including Aspen, PSLF, TSAT, and TARA are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electric utility systems and wiring and schematic diagrams is a plus.
- Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.
- Use effective communication skills (both written and oral), be customer-driven, and display teamwork behavior.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $111,693 - $ 126,415 annually.
This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for three minimum relevant years of experience to seven maximum relevant years of experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
