Power Tek is seeking a Professional Engineer to oversee the implementation of an Arc Flash Hazard Study and ensure that safety mitigation strategies are adopted throughout the organization. This role will involve working closely with the engineering team, reviewing current safety programs, and providing recommendations for improvements in electrical safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the project team to develop additional hazard mitigation strategies based on the findings of the Arc Flash Hazard Study.
- Ensure the implementation of safe work practices that align with the hierarchy of controls for electrical safety.
- Review and assess Electrical Safety Program and Arc Flash Work Procedure Guidelines, recommending necessary improvements.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop a comprehensive written electrical safety program, incorporating recommendations from the Arc Flash study.
- Conduct Train the Trainer sessions to educate safety personnel, crew leaders, supervisors, and other stakeholders on the arc flash study results and updated electrical safety practices.
- Provide ongoing support for safety personnel and monitor the effectiveness of implemented safety measures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in last 7 Years in electrical safety, arc flash hazard mitigation and arc flash studies, or safety program management within a utility or similar organization.
- In-depth knowledge of arc flash safety regulations and IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Experience in developing and implementing electrical safety programs, particularly in the context of arc flash hazards.
- Professional Engineer Registered in Texas.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Familiarity with developing training materials and conducting technical training sessions for diverse audiences.
