Anderson HealthPlex is looking for energetic, service-orientated individuals to join our summer camp team! The purpose of the Camp Counselor is to provide child care in a safe, caring, secure and effective manner with age appropriate interactions and play activities and experiences for the children within the determined age range. Counselors will also keep children safe while leading active and engaging activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet children and parents in a positive manner, while monitoring appropriate entry and exit of adults and children in and out of the designated camp area.
Lead daily activities to get campers active, connected, and engaged
Be knowledgeable of and enforce the Center’s camp policies to ensure a safe environment for all children.
Maintain camper discipline as necessary, in an appropriate manner to achieve camp objectives.
Provide parents and children a comfortable, safe and secure environment in a friendly setting.
Be receptive to parent's feedback, concerns and/or questions related to childcare; including appropriate follow up with supervisor for support as needed.
Be proficient in all core business software as it relates to job duties and responsibilities.
Work towards meeting departmental and organizational goals.
The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to camp hours and work schedules.
Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence communicating with EMS.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Must be 18 years or older, previous experience working with children preferred.
Early Childhood Education degree or working towards a degree in education is preferred.
Previous camp experience preferred.
CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
Willingness to play and be active with campers.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to follow policies and procedures to keep children safe.
Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members and guests in a positive, service-based manner.
Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
Proficient computer skills.
