What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer/Advisor position at Power World LLC?
Power World in Granby, Colorado seeks an experienced, highly motivated service writer/service advisor for our high-volume service department. The ideal candidate is an individual who is goal oriented, organized, and pays careful attention to detail. A successful service writer is responsible for building a loyal customer base, maintaining good employee relations, and maintaining service records. Power World will train the right applicant, but applicants with previous service writing experience will be given priority.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Determine problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms, clarifying description of problems, conducting inspections, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.
- Verifies warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer rapport and records.
- Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor.
- Calculates customer’s payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.
- Obtains approval signatures and enters RO into service database system.
- Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of machine, obtaining customer’s approval of estimates, obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, and answering questions and concerns.
- Maintains records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturers’ publications.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Interact with customers, listen to their questions and concerns and provide timely responses.
- Educate clients about the company’s products, services and offers.
