Responsibilities

SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist, Early Intervention provides and directs physical therapyservices to children aged birth to three, including assessment, treatment, program planning andimplementation, related documentation, and communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Provides physical therapy services to children as outlined in their treatment plan and initiatesreferrals when appropriate and in accordance with Bureau of Early Intervention procedures.2. Conducts evaluations annually and performs six-month reviews of IFSPs to determine the need forintervention and treatment and produce IFSP goals.3. Produces discharge reports in advance of reaching age-out of Early Intervention to assist with thetransition process, or as required at discharge.4. Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to parents and other treatment team members.5. Establishes treatment schedule and provides frequency of services as determined by IFSP plan.6. Communicates and documents changes to IFSP as needed.7. Participates in co-treatment or IFSP consultation with other treatment team members to ensurecoordination of patient care.8. Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the developmentof the child across therapeutic environments.9. Documents results of the child’s assessment, treatment, follow-up and termination of services.10. Adapts treatment plans, as needed to meet the individual needs of the child.11. Provides, recommends, and fabricates adaptive devices or other equipment and trains parents andcaregivers in the appropriate use or application of orthotics.12. Supervises students and provides mentorship, as needed.13. Reviews the quality and appropriateness of services delivered and of individual physical therapyprograms for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.14. Participates in family and caregiver education to discuss the client’s progress and strategies forcontinued support.15. Communicates with management regarding caseload status and capacity for new referrals.16. Provides timely services according to frequency determined by each child’s IFSP.17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

They must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license andeligibility.2. They must have a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy; or3. They must have a Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addition to a Bachelor’sdegree in Physical Therapy; or4. They must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PTexperience.The qualifying Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated to be the U.S.equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy.5. Early Intervention Temporary or Full Credential.

Posted Salary Range

USD $40.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
