Overview:
We are seeking an individual to fill our Entry Level Fire Alarm Inspector position. Individual must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate has technical knowledge, problem solving skills, and is willing to service and master fire alarm systems. Reports directly to Operations Manager.
Positions Responsibilities:
PowerComm Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Fire Alarm Inspector within our Reno, Nevada Office. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with inspections, service, and installation of fire alarm systems and other life safety equipment.
- Learn to follow blueprints and meet product specifications.
- Learn to verify proper operation; prepare accurate and timely documentation of work performed.
- Learn to prepare inspection/deficiency reports for submission to management.
- Coordinates with service management to ensure that all work is scheduled/handled.
- Interacts with customers to explain work performed and answers their questions.
- Resolve customer concerns as quickly and effectively as possible.
- Must ensure customer satisfaction and a positive customer experience.
- Maintains and organizes truck inventory (equipment, parts and tools) to ensure proper response to customers’ needs.
- Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Must have a strong work ethic.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Skills & Experience):
- High school diploma or GED.
- Advanced technical school training or related work experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, including electric and battery-powered equipment.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
- Proactive approach and attitude towards work.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Certification/Licensing:
- Must obtain FCard and NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems within one (1) year.
- Required to have a full understanding of NFPA 72 with the ability to discern basic deficiencies in the system being inspected.
- Must obtain and retain any licenses and certifications that are required by state and/or local codes.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
- Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
- Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Must clear a background/credit check, drug test, and have a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
