Job description
PowerFilm Solar is seeking a full-time Production Machine Operator. Working under the direct supervision of the Deposition Manager, the machine operator will produce photovoltaic film by loading and operating various machines involved in PV Production.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours can be flexible with an early clock-out time on Friday depending on that week’s deposition schedule and approval from the Deposition Manager.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for all processes involved in the operation of the deposition and laser scribing machines; including the unloading, cleaning, and reloading of materials.
- Responsible for completing preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, checking gas cylinders to ensure appropriate levels needed for machine operation, checking vacuum pumps before starting the machine to ensure oil levels are appropriate and there are no defects, inspection of O rings for any defects or damage, replacing materials and equipment as needed and, when appropriate, informing the maintenance team of needed repairs.
- Responsible for monitoring the production machines while in operation, logging run conditions, and reporting any abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience operating production machinery
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy and producing a quality product.
- Dependability and reliability
- Good, positive attitude and the flexibility to work independently and as a team
- Ability to handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and/or sit continuously and move throughout the facility
