Scope of Job
PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables company, is a leading national provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions that support carbon-free electrification and transportation. The Project Engineer Intern will be responsible for assisting the implementation of solar, storage, and EVSE infrastructure projects. They will be responsible for supporting project data management, engineering design sets, client/utility/contractor coordination, purchase orders, and project tracking. This individual will help the Project Engineer to coordinate all aspects of the project to ensure they are completed as quickly and as safely possible. The ideal candidate will be very detailed, organized, and able to manage time and priorities.
Location and Schedule
This hybrid role is based out of our Los Angeles, CA office, located near the Crypto.com Arena. The selected candidate will be expected to work in person 3 days per week. Applicants must be local to Los Angeles or willing to relocate, though relocation expenses will not be covered by the company.
This is a full-time summer internship lasting 12 weeks, from Monday, June 2nd, to Friday, August 22nd. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Education/Experience
The pay range for this position is $20 - $25 hourly.
Physical Requirements
Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
Working Conditions
Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings or field traveling to project sites.

Responsibilities
95% - Junior Project Engineering
- Support lead Project Engineer in all project-related endeavors
- Manage project data using applicable platforms (Procore, Salesforce, etc)
- Coordinate with client and/or site contact to schedule on-site meetings
- Assist in equipment delivery schedules
- Request quotes from vendors, engineering partners
- Issue purchase orders, change orders
- Interface with utilities to plan site meetings, outages, witness tests or similar
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (preferably rising or graduating Senior) in engineering, construction, sustainability or a related field
- Experience in CAD or other designing software
- Experience working in Commercial PV Solar is preferred
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Professional, dependable, customer service oriented
- Ability to multi-task in in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work activities and time efficiently
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Detail oriented - demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness to ensure work quality
- Strong initiative and ability to problem solve
- Self-starter who can complete tasks and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Understanding of electrical engineering and power systems
- Knowledge of Civil/Structural engineering is preferred
