JOB SUMMARY
The R&D/Production Test Technician will work under the direction of the Test Engineering Lead. This individual is responsible for providing production and engineering support in the areas of system testing, new product introduction, customer demonstrations of systems, certification, test automation, production testing, documentation, technical support, design drawing creation, quality improvements, sustaining, and cost reduction. Assignments can be broad in variety and scope.
Responsibilities:
- Performs routine Product Testing on all finished good PDU systems
- Works with the research and technology team and design engineers to ensure that products conform to customer expectations and to determine corrective actions necessary to bring product within specification.
- Support product launch initiatives and maintain designs through the entire product lifecycle
- Executes system test plans to investigate and validate systems and products
- Ensures the planning and implementation of test plans assigning the right priority and overseeing the resources allocated
- Analyzes and evaluates test results and prepares test reports in partnership with designers, engineers, and quality team members.
- Supports regulatory certification efforts and ensures standards are met and followed
- Supports customer demonstration programs
- Supports writing of test specifications and procedures for electrical and electromechanical assemblies
- Uses in-depth knowledge in system level testing to execute complex and specialized projects, often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions
- Provides test fixture support for R&D Technology team.
- Creates updates to technical data such as installation and operation manuals as necessary
- Identifies product design improvement opportunities to reduce cost without changing form, fit or function
Basic Qualifications:
- A.S. in Electronics or similar education or military training
- 2 years of relevant work experience or military service
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of hands on testing experience with power system products
- Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and detailed electrical schematics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Innovative mindset with ability to imagine new ways of solving customer challenges
- Technical writing experience a plus
- Experience with automated test fixtures and design a plus
- 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
