Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing claims efficiently and effectively, ensuring timely resolution of incidents while maintaining excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Management:
- Process claims reporting and ensure accurate documentation.
- Handle utility damage claims by assessing, negotiating, and processing payments.
- Manage property damage claims, including evaluating, negotiating, and executing payments.
- Monitor claims activity and notify claims manager of any significant activity, trend, or financial impact
- Assess severity of incidents to determine plan of action and next steps
Non-Insurance Incident Management:
- Negotiate and process non-insurance incidents and payments.
Administrative and Data Management:
- Create and maintain organized folders in OneDrive for claim-related documentation.
- Compile data and prepare reports as required.
- Confirm all data points align across all systems and records to guarantee complete consistency without discrepancies
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the claims process.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Participate in claims-related calls and conferences to ensure efficient coordination and resolution.
- Partner with other departments to confirm all relevant parties are notified promptly of any updates that affect other business units
Qualifications
- General knowledge and application of insurance policies
- Minimum 1-year experience in an insurance-related field (adjuster, broker, risk manager, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in data management and administrative tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
- Consists of sedentary work. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analysing data and figures or viewing a computer screen.
