Powerhouse Arts is a not-for-profit organization committed to creative expression. Housed in a purpose-built-facility in Brooklyn, the organization hosts an extended network of art and fabrication professionals and educators who work together to co-create and share artistic practices vital to the well-being of artists and the communities to which they serve. Our new facilities house fabrication services, production services, production spaces, and member workshops for artisans. In 2025, PHA expects to welcome in thousands of patrons as the building becomes a center for art and performance. Over the next few years, PHA will see growth and expansion in all areas of business and an increased focus on revenue generation.

PHA is seeking a Security and Safety Guard to join our growing team. This individual will ensure a safe and welcoming environment within the building and on the Powerhouse Arts property. This role will report to the Safety and Security Administrator.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Security Duties

• Respond to emergencies in a prompt manner and efficient manner.
• Conduct routine patrols of the premises to ensure security and safety in accordance with building policies.
• At all times observe and report irregularities such as unusual behavior, property damage, fire hazards, etc. Immediately report any suspicious activities or incidents to the Safety and Security Administrator.
• Ensure exits and fire extinguishers are free and clear of any obstructions and are accessible
• Maintain and hold assigned posts throughout the facility until properly relieved
• Stay updated on security protocols, procedures, and relevant regulations to ensure compliance and effectiveness in performing duties

Compensation : The hourly rate for this position is $20-22 / hr. The shifts available for this position will be Mon-Sun from 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am & 12am-8am. Full Time or Part Time, Hourly with Night and Weekend availability.
