We are seeking the right person to join our team as a Lighting Specialist for custom residential projects. The ideal person will help our growing company to continue its forward momentum by generating new business and providing personalized service and expertise to existing clients.
Legend Lighting is a family-owned lighting distributorship and showroom serving homebuilders, interior designers, and homeowners in Austin, Texas, and the surrounding areas. Our company was founded in 2008 and has built a strong reputation as a leader in our local marketplace and our industry.
Custom Lighting Specialists find, qualify, and close sales opportunities for custom new home and remodel projects, and then manage these projects by guiding and collaborating with a team of support professionals to deliver a consistent, positive customer experience. You will also serve as the client's lead lighting expert and help them to understand the art and science of beautiful yet functional residential lighting.

As a Custom Lighting Specialist, you will...
- Build and manage relationships with residential custom homebuilders, remodelers, interior designers, and architects to generate new and ongoing sales opportunities
- Meet/exceed sales volume and margin objectives within the residential custom project segmentation by finding, qualifying, and closing revenue-generating leads
- Understand the decision-making process that influences and leads to the purchase of residential lighting fixtures
- Find mutually beneficial opportunities to match customers with products and services that meet their needs while supporting our business objectives/strategy
- Qualify and pursue leads provided by owners and generated through the relationship with our jointly owned electrical contracting company, PowerHouse Electrical Services
- Professionally represent Legend Lighting at networking events and professional associations
- Take ownership of the success of each custom residential project and overall customer experience from initial consultation through product delivery and installation
- Conduct selection appointments and provide technical and design expertise
- Use consultative selling techniques to identify the customer’s needs, propose tailored solutions, and deliver results that exceed expectations
- Provide on-site support for projects to ensure accuracy and completeness of final lighting selections
- Guide and collaborate with a team of inside sales and support professionals to deliver a consistent, positive customer experience, including creation of sales proposals, order fulfillment and delivery, invoicing, and warranty support

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in a sales role is preferred
- Experience in a B2B/B2C sales environment in a similar building materials or home furnishings industry is helpful but not required
- Lighting and/or design experience is a plus, although not required, and a sincere interest in both is imperative
- Ability to manage highly detailed customer orders that require paring compatible parts and identifying outside factors that will affect product recommendations and configurations
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable and knowledgeable working with point-of-sale, inventory management, and customer relationship management software
- Basic to intermediate user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word
- Comfortable working on your feet while moving about our showroom sales floor and residential construction job sites
- Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel to customer’s/homeowner’s job sites throughout Austin and the surrounding metropolitan area
- Personal appearance that reflects professionalism and a sense of personal style
