Job Description
Under the guidance of a senior mechanic, provides support for aircraft, engine and component disposal and demilitarization to include performing complete aircraft engine and component removal, installation, assist with the lifting and modeling of aircraft and components and demilitarization tasks on various types of disposal aircraft and parts. Accomplishes limited aircraft reassembly and area clean-up post maintenance-in-storage inspections and reclamation activities. Performs tasks associated with demilitarization and disposal process for excess surplus property. Segregates sensitive military components prior to destruction, recycle, or transfer and to carefully dismantle items when there may be hazardous material present.
Job Requirements
Must have a minimum of 1 1 / 2 years experience in aircraft maintenance.
