Position Overview
The Structured Cabling Technician is an experienced cabling position responsible for managing their own
projects in conjunction with the Structured Cabling Manager. The Cabling Technician is responsible for helping
to gather supplies, and working with the Lead and Manager to maintain and stay on track with assigned cabling
jobs. The Cabling Technician will support the Lead Structured Cabling Technicians and the Structured
Cabling Manager on the larger cabling jobs and help with cabling tasks as requested. The Cabling Technician
will be responsible for continuing to learn new systems and understanding how larger cabling projects work.
Must be willing to learn on the job, and has the ability effectively interact with their peers and a variety of
customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and promote the mission, values and principles of Powernet and its subsidiaries.
- Able to run smaller projects (0-10K)
- Be able to communicate directly with customers.
- Responsible for managing materials and labor hours for their projects.
- Provide accurate Daily Job Reports.
- Work with Service Management and vendor partners for customers job supplies.
- Ability to learn, and help the Lead with troubleshooting for cabling projects.
- Communicates regularly with Lead and Cabling Manager for any issues that may arise.
- Represent the company in appearance and actions.
- Work with internal departments to assist with job completion in systems.
- Ability to follow directions and work on multiple activities and jobsites simultaneously
- Follows documented company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
- High School Degree, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent communication skills
- Good at following directions.
- Great work attitude, eager to help cabling team members and customers
- Experience with telecommunications or cabling technology preferred.
- 2-4 years of cabling experience
- Must possess a valid driver license
Salary : $17 - $20
