Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our Indianapolis office team. This position will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will be analytical, organized, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions including vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment processing
- Manage accounts receivable functions including client billing, collections, and payment application
- Prepare and process subcontractor payments and maintain subcontractor documentation
- Assist with job cost accounting and project financial reporting
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare financial reports and analyses as needed
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
- Process payroll documentation and coordinate with payroll service providers
- Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation
- Track and monitor project budgets and cost variances
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing
- Process lien waivers and other project-related financial documentation
- Maintain vendor relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate's degree with additional experience may be considered)
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or related industries
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing
- Experience with accounting software, preferably construction-specific systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Pay: $22.83 - $25.25 per hour
