Job Overview
Powers & Sons Construction is seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter/Laborer to join our dynamic construction team in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, technical carpentry skills, and the ability to contribute to various construction projects across residential and commercial sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform rough and finish carpentry work on construction projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and technical drawings
- Construct, install, and repair building frameworks and structures
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using hand and power tools
- Install drywall, windows, doors, interior and exterior trim, and other construction elements
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and adhere to safety standards
- Assist other team members with various construction tasks as needed
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Participate in project planning and provide input on construction methods
- Comply with all OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in carpentry or construction labor
- Proficient in using carpentry tools and power equipment
- Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- OSHA construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
